About Housing Families:

Housing Families is a non-profit organization in Malden, MA that works to end family homelessness. We provide safe, temporary shelter and quality affordable housing to homeless and at-risk families. Additionally, we offer individualized supportive services to enrich children’s lives, nurture the potential of each family member, and help families maintain permanent housing.

About YSEP:

Housing Families’ Youth Service & Engagement Program (YSEP) aims to educate middle and high students about homelessness in the Greater Boston Area and its impacts on children and families. Through participation in presentations and discussions with peers and guest speakers, students learn the importance of combating housing insecurity and how it affects the daily lives of families—including their health, education, employment, etc. We value the views of student leaders and collaborators and encourage students to advocate for causes they are passionate about through their self-designed service projects. Ultimately, students learn they have the power and tools to make a difference of any size—big or small—in their community.
