The Plumbing program prepares students with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to install, maintain, and repair residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems. Students receive instruction in plumbing theory, safety, blueprint reading, mathematics for the trades, piping systems, drainage, venting, water distribution, fixtures, and code compliance. Emphasis is placed on quality workmanship, problem-solving, and the safe use of industry-standard tools and equipment.

Students learn a variety of installation techniques while working with copper, cast iron, PVC, PEX, and other piping materials used throughout the plumbing industry. Instruction follows the Massachusetts Plumbing Board curriculum and provides a strong foundation in the Massachusetts Plumbing Code, workplace safety, and industry best practices. Throughout the program, students develop technical skills through authentic, project-based learning experiences that mirror real-world plumbing applications.

Extended learning opportunities include community-based projects, field trips, guest speakers, industry demonstrations, and Cooperative Education placements with licensed plumbing contractors. Students have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized credentials, including OSHA 10-Hour Construction, while preparing for postsecondary education, apprenticeships, and careers in the plumbing and mechanical trades. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue employment, union apprenticeship programs, or further education in plumbing, pipefitting, construction management, engineering, and other related fields where demand for skilled professionals continues to grow.
